Kakaako High-Rise Meter Upgrade Project – Honolulu, Hawaii
At a Kakaako High-Rise in Honolulu, Hawaii, we completed a comprehensive meter upgrade project to replace a discontinued Cutler-Hammer EPM 4000 metering system. While the existing meters had provided reliable service in the past, the system’s remote meter-reading capabilities had failed, requiring property management to rely on manual meter readings. The discontinued technology also limited the property’s ability to efficiently collect utility data and support modern smart metering and remote monitoring.
The upgraded system incorporates new smart meters with pulse transmitters, a centralized data collector with Ethernet connectivity, and RF repeaters to provide reliable wireless communication throughout the building. The system was designed to restore automated meter reading while improving the accuracy and reliability of utility data collection.
The project included installation of new smart meters and enclosures, integration of the centralized data collection system, and RF repeaters for building-wide wireless coverage. The existing Cutler-Hammer EPM 4000 meters remained operational during installation, helping maintain continuity of service and avoid interruptions in monthly meter readings. We also integrated the Voyage Online Portal, providing residents and property managers with access to energy usage information, historical data, billing transparency, and customizable reports.
The completed upgrade provides Kakaako High-Rise with reliable remote meter reading, improved energy monitoring, accurate utility data, and greater visibility into energy consumption. This project demonstrates our expertise in Honolulu electrical submetering, Cutler-Hammer meter replacement, discontinued metering system upgrades, smart metering, RF meter communication, remote meter monitoring, and utility data solutions for high-rise and condominium properties throughout Hawaii.
