Kihei Condo Submetering Project – Maui, Hawaii
At Kihei Condo Condominiums in Maui, Hawaii, we completed a new electrical submetering installation designed to accurately monitor individual unit energy usage. The project required cutting into existing drywall and installing code-compliant meter enclosures, along with custom three-gang meter boxes and flush-mount faceplates for a clean, professional installation.
The project included electrical engineering drawings and plans submitted through Maui County, required permitting, and coordination with licensed electricians to ensure compliance with applicable requirements.
The new RF electrical submetering system transmits individual meter data to a central collector, providing accurate energy monitoring and supporting transparent monthly energy reports and individual utility billing statements. Residents can also monitor their energy consumption through an online monitoring portal.
We also integrated monthly maintenance dues into the same billing statements, allowing property management to conveniently combine energy charges and maintenance fees into one monthly statement for residents and unit owners.
As a certified Hawaii Energy Ally, we facilitated a $12,600 Hawaii Energy rebate, helping maximize the property’s investment in energy efficiency.
This project demonstrates our expertise in Maui electrical submetering, new submeter installations, condominium utility billing, RF meter systems, electrical engineering and permitting, code-compliant meter enclosures, individual unit energy monitoring, and integrated resident billing solutions.
The result is a modern electrical submetering and billing system providing accurate individual-unit energy data, streamlined resident billing, and reliable long-term energy management.
