Waikiki Hotel – Multi-Use Property Submetering & Utility Billing Project
We partnered with a multi-use property in Waikiki, Honolulu, Hawaii, serving both hotel operations and an Owners Association (AOAO), to modernize its existing electrical submetering system. The goal was to provide property management with a reliable and efficient way to collect individual unit electricity usage, monitor consumption, and generate accurate billing information for residents.
Our team managed the project from system installation and programming through commissioning, installing dedicated RF electrical submeters adjacent to the property’s electrical panels. Pulse transmitters communicate meter data wirelessly to designated access points, allowing individual unit electricity usage to be collected without extensive new wiring.
The upgraded system provides management with automated daily meter readings through internet-connected access points, reducing the need for manual meter collection. This gives the property’s management team better visibility into individual electricity consumption and provides the data needed to support monthly utility billing, resident statements, and ongoing account management.
The system is particularly valuable for a property with both hotel and residential/Owners Association operations, where accurate separation of individual electricity usage is essential for transparent utility management. Instead of relying on manual readings, management can access centralized meter data to help ensure residents are billed according to their actual electricity consumption.
Our licensed electricians handled the onsite installation and programming, with careful coordination to minimize disruption during the upgrade.
