Pearl City High-Rise – Intellimeter Replacement & Electrical Submetering Upgrade Project

We partnered with Pearl City High-Rise in Honolulu, Hawaii to modernize its existing electrical submetering system and upgrade its legacy Intellimeter metering infrastructure. The project was designed to replace outdated metering technology with a more reliable and flexible solution while maintaining compatibility with the property’s existing infrastructure.

The upgrade replaced the property’s legacy Intellimeter system and communication technology with modern radio-frequency (RF) electrical submetering. The new system communicates wirelessly with a centralized data collection unit, providing a more reliable method for collecting individual unit electricity usage and supporting modern utility data management.

To minimize disruption and installation costs, the upgraded electrical submeters utilize the property’s existing in-wall meter enclosures. Enhanced interior and exterior components provide improved functionality and a refreshed appearance, while customized flush-mount faceplates were installed specifically for the existing enclosures. Integrated LCD displays provide convenient access to real-time meter readings.

Our licensed electricians completed the installation over several weeks, working within the property’s existing electrical rooms and metering infrastructure. By utilizing the existing meter locations and transitioning from the legacy Intellimeter system to RF-based submetering, the project provided a practical path to modernize the property’s electrical monitoring without requiring a complete replacement of the surrounding infrastructure.

This project demonstrates our expertise in Honolulu electrical submetering, Intellimeter replacement, Intellimeter upgrades, legacy meter system modernization, RF submetering, meter data management, and condominium energy monitoring. The upgrade provides Pearl City High-Rise with a more dependable metering platform while extending the usefulness of its existing in-wall infrastructure.

The result is a modern electrical submetering system that replaces outdated Intellimeter technology with reliable RF communication, improving individual-unit energy monitoring, utility data collection, and long-term metering management for the property.
